CLICK HERE TO REGISTER YOUR RISING SIXTH GRADER
It’s time for one of the biggest milestones in KidCity — the move into Youth Movement! We are so excited for our Rising Sixth Graders as they prepare to take this next step into a brand-new season of faith, friendships, and growth.
Here are a few important things to know as we prepare for the transition!
Summer Schedule Stays the Same
Your child will continue attending KidCity on Sundays and Wednesdays throughout the summer. Their final Sunday in KidCity will be on Back to School Sunday: Sunday, August 2nd, and this will be a completely normal KidCity experience as we celebrate one final Sunday together!
Rising Sixth Grade Pool Party
We want to celebrate this huge milestone with a special Rising Sixth Graders ONLY Pool Party on Saturday, August 1st from 10:00am–12:00pm at:
126 Willowpeg Road
Rincon, Georgia 31326
The party will include pizza, slushies, swimming, and a very special gift for each student to take home! This is designed to be a fun and memorable time just for the kids, so parents and siblings will not be permitted to attend during the party itself.
However, parents are invited to return promptly at 12:00pm for a very meaningful moment together. During this time, we will present each student with their official Move-Up Gift Box and pray a special prayer of blessing over them as they step into this next chapter. We would absolutely love for you to be there for this moment!
Important August Dates
Please note that we will NOT be having Family Ministries Night on Wednesday, August 5th due to the first week of school.
Our Fall Family Ministries Kickoff Night will take place on Wednesday, August 12th — and this will officially be your child’s first night in Youth Movement! It’s going to be an incredible evening filled with fun, connection, and an exciting introduction to youth ministry life.
At the end of the night, students will participate in a short “Pow Wow Session” with Pastor Josh, the youth staff, and several current youth students. We’ll hear how the night went, answer any questions, and officially wish them well as they complete their transition from KidCity into Youth Movement.
From that point forward, students will attend Sunday services with their parents and Youth Movement on Wednesday nights.
But remember… once a KidCity kid, always a KidCity kid.
One Final Note About Serving
We receive this question often, so we wanted to clarify: students are not permitted to serve in the Kids Department until they reach Seventh Grade.
After completing one full year in Youth Movement, students are welcome to register to become a KidCity Aid — essentially a junior volunteer role that serves on Sundays, usually once every 4–6 weeks.
We are so proud of this group of students and cannot wait to celebrate this exciting transition together!
